12 Mar Improve indoor air quality after a renovation.

The fan coil refurbishment service complements a hotel guestroom renovation project.

During a guestroom renovation the carpets are typically pulled up. With it comes dust, debris and allergens.  There is typically drywall work. Drywall produces very fine dust that finds its way to the fan motor.  Bathroom tiles may be replaced. Removing and laying tiles is very dusty work. Then wallpaper and paint is applied to the walls.  Both of these produce chemicals that are in the air and ultimately reside in the fan coil.

All of this construction work in the hotel guestroom resides in the guestroom fan coil unit…. Forever if not removed.

Post guestroom renovation the fan coil unit will circulate bad air if it is not deep cleaned. The fan coil unit includes a motor, pan, insulation, and coil.  All of these components are ideal locations for the dust and debris to settle.

If the dust and debris is not cleaned out of each component then the indoor air quality is negatively impacted. The air is pulled through the return, picks up the dust and allergens there, flows through the coil, and then is returned to the air.  Even air filters will not help remove renovation dust from the fan coil unit.

Most hotels are completing a renovation to enhance guest comfort and guest satisfaction.  Refurbishing the fan coil units with the rooms renovation is integral to guaranteeing a hotel renovation result is not derailed by poor indoor air quality.

In this video the fan wheel, or squirrel cage as it is commonly known, is caked with dust and debris following a guest room renovation.

Don’t let what’s behind the cabinet and invisible in the air negatively impact your guest comfort and guest satisfaction scores.
